What AI products am I regularly using now?

This page lists all the AI tools and products which I use on a regular basis. I also share what I’m paying for them, and a bit about how I’m using them.

My current total AI tool spend: $136 / month

I keep this page up-to-date as my personal use changes. (Note that there’s a last updated date at the bottom of the page.)

(Note that I also have a page which lists the AI-related podcasts I listen to and newsletters I read.)

Microsoft Office Copilot

30 / month

Technically the product I use is “Copilot for Microsoft 365.” I’m not super impressed with it so far, though I’m sure it will improve over time. I did a blog post & podcast episode about my experience, so check those out for details.

Perplexity

20 / month

Perplexity has pretty much completely replaced web searches for me. I do not use the Perplexity Pages feature.

ChatGPT

20 / month

I’m not using ChatGPT as much these days since I like the Claude model better than GPT-4o at the moment, though I’m keeping my subscription because I want to keep tabs on what OpenAI is doing, and I’m really looking forward to the advanced voice features they showed off in June.

Claude

20 / month

I love the new Claude 3.5 Sonnet model. It’s replaced ChatGPT in my daily workflow. I love their artifacts and projects features.

GitHub Copilot

100 / year

I’ve been using this since it the first public preview (2022, maybe?) and I can’t imagine coding without it. I constantly tell people it’s the best deal in tech.

DeepL

Free

This is an ML-powered translator which I like it better than Google Translate. I like that they have a desktop app which is accessible via CMD+C+C, so I can essentially highlight anything I want to translate in any app and that will copy it and then pop open the translator window. I use it a lot since I live in Paris. I use the free version, though there are paid versions.

Alitu (Podcast Maker)

38 / month

This is the platform I use to record the podcast. It uses AI/ML to automatically mix, level, and edit the podcast, as well as to generate descriptions and transcripts.

Things I’ve used in the past that I no longer use

  • Mistral: I tried it, mainly because it’s French and I live in France. It was fine, no complaints, I just found myself using ChatGPT and Claude more.

What newsletters do I pay for?

Details of these are on the Resources page.

  • Synthetic Work, $24.99 / month
  • Unsupervised Learning, $99 / year
